Social Security Numbers

What is a SSN?

A Social Security Number (SSN) is issued by the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) to individuals for tracking earnings and benefits. It serves as a primary form of identification for U.S. citizens and eligible residents in matters of taxes, employment, and government services.

At Pegasus Glass, we require SSN only when working with individual (non-business) customers based in the United States. This is strictly for tax compliance and identity verification, particularly when handling regulated materials or cross-border shipments.
* We take data privacy very seriously. Your SSN is securely processed and never shared outside of compliance partners.

Where do I find my SSN?

Your SSN is typically found on your:
  • Social Security Card
  • Tax Documents (W-2, 1099, etc.)
  • Official Government Filings
If you can't find your SSN, you can request a new or replacement SSN card through the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Why does Pegasus require it?

If you're ordering as a U.S. individual (not a registered business), we're required to collect your SSN to:
  • Verify your identity.
  • Ensure tax compliance for transactions and cross-border shipments.
  • Facilitate U.S. Customs filings when applicable.
If you're representing a business, we will request your Employer Identification Number (EIN) instead.
